It’s National Spa Week 2018

Whether heading to the spa is a regular occurrence or just a once in a blue moon treat, there’s no better time to book a visit! Celebrate National Spa Week by heading to one of these fabulous local spas. Just add some fizz!

Aroha Beauty House

This intimate and unique spa is a peaceful retreat from the moment you step inside. From waxing and facials, lashes to manicures and pedicures, everything is covered. Ask Lottie, the owner about what’s on the ‘Specials’ board to see what monthly and seasonal beauty offers are available. For something seriously relaxing, book in for a soak in the relaxing hydrotherapy bath upstairs followed by an indulgent massage or facial and you can even book out the entire place for a girlie weekend of your own! If after reading this you just can’t wait to visit, then it’s worth mentioning that Aroha will be closed for one week from 17 September. Worry not, they’re just refreshing and rebranding, but you can still expect to see the same lovely faces and indulge in even more amazing treatments when they reopen on 24 September.

Champneys Springs

For a full mind and body recharge, this upscale spa hotel has it all, and in picture perfect surroundings no less. The spa features a thalassotherapy pool, gym, sauna, 25-meter pool, steam rooms and much, much more. For fitness bunnies there’s numerous fitness classes (up to 20 a day) including the likes of water polo, aqua aerobics and yoga, the gym comes complete with personal trainers should you need to shed a few of those extra pounds you gained over the summer! There’s a real focus on healthy living and general well-being here so don’t be surprised if you leave feeling healthier than you did when you arrived. Spa days start from £79.

Ragdale Hall

If you want to pamper yourself into blissful oblivion, there’s no better place for it than at Ragdale Hall. If spas were awarded Michelin stars, this one would have its fair share. This red brick country house has been updated into a top-notch spa hotel with all the trimmings including luxury accommodation and an excellent restaurant not to mention the recently opened Rooftop Infinity Pool – wow wee indeed! The facilities are vast and their thermal spa is described as an ‘indoor playground for adults’ and we can see why. It features an indoor and outdoor waterfall pool, a rose sauna, a colour flow cave with steamy, intoxicating scents, a cave like lagoon and numerous treatment rooms. What more do you need? Evening spa experience from £60 or book the Refresh and Revive package from £149 for the day. Read Muddy’s review here.

Ragdale Village, Melton Mowbray LE14 3PB

Sophie Elise Beauty

If you fancy a little break from it all, escape into this beauty boutique where you’ll be pampered into a state of sheer bliss. Beauty therapist Sophie Hewitt and her team offer a range of treatments but it’s the spa downstairs we love. The Elemis Day Spa is private and intimate so it’s perfect for a couples break or for some fun with the girls! Once booked, you’ll have full use of the rooms, sauna, complimentary towels and robe or you can pick and mix which treatments you want to make a bespoke package just for you. Fancy something more decadent? Add the cream tea option or even better, bring your own fizz. A mini day spa package starts from £36 or a two-hour day spa session with a choice of one express treatment is £40 per person.

Stapleford Park

The intimate spa at Stapleford Park is perfect for a dose of relaxation. Set in a converted Grade II Victorian stable block, the spa comes with original bars and doors dating back to 1899 and is surrounded by a totally instagram-worthy courtyard. There’s a range of impressive treatments on offer including the indulgent 80 minute coconut exfoliation and body scrub which will buff and polish you all over, leaving you with an all over glow. Enjoy some laps in the indoor pool  before finishing off with a decadent tea in the spa’s lounge. A half day spa day is £5o.

Barnsdale Hall Hotel

This unassuming country hotel spa housed in a former hunting lodge and overlooks Rutland Water. If like me, you enjoy taking a bath by candlelight, you’ll love floating in the Dead Sea flotation tank under its twinkling stars. Apparently floating in the tank for 40 minutes gives your body the same rest as eight hours of sleep (I need to gets me one of these). Alternatively, choose from one of the gazillion treatments on offer or opt for a treatment package for the ultimate in blissful you-time. A top to toe treatment is £55 and includes a back massage and light lunch and a file and polish.

Barnsdale Hall Hotel Nr Oakham, Rutland. LE15 8AB.
