It’s National Spa Week 2018
Whether heading to the spa is a regular occurrence or just a once in a blue moon treat, there’s no better time to book a visit! Celebrate National Spa Week by heading to one of these fabulous local spas. Just add some fizz!
This intimate and unique spa is a peaceful retreat from the moment you step inside. From waxing and facials, lashes to manicures and pedicures, everything is covered. Ask Lottie, the owner about what’s on the ‘Specials’ board to see what monthly and seasonal beauty offers are available. For something seriously relaxing, book in for a soak in the relaxing hydrotherapy bath upstairs followed by an indulgent massage or facial and you can even book out the entire place for a girlie weekend of your own! If after reading this you just can’t wait to visit, then it’s worth mentioning that Aroha will be closed for one week from 17 September. Worry not, they’re just refreshing and rebranding, but you can still expect to see the same lovely faces and indulge in even more amazing treatments when they reopen on 24 September.

If you want to pamper yourself into blissful oblivion, there’s no better place for it than at Ragdale Hall. If spas were awarded Michelin stars, this one would have its fair share. This red brick country house has been updated into a top-notch spa hotel with all the trimmings including luxury accommodation and an excellent restaurant not to mention the recently opened Rooftop Infinity Pool – wow wee indeed! The facilities are vast and their thermal spa is described as an ‘indoor playground for adults’ and we can see why. It features an indoor and outdoor waterfall pool, a rose sauna, a colour flow cave with steamy, intoxicating scents, a cave like lagoon and numerous treatment rooms. What more do you need? Evening spa experience from £60 or book the Refresh and Revive package from £149 for the day. Read Muddy’s review here.

There’s a range of impressive treatments on offer including the indulgent 80 minute coconut exfoliation and body scrub which will buff and polish you all over, leaving you with an all over glow. Enjoy some laps in the indoor pool before finishing off with a decadent tea in the spa’s lounge. A half day spa day is £5o.

This unassuming country hotel spa housed in a former hunting lodge and overlooks Rutland Water. If like me, you enjoy taking a bath by candlelight, you’ll love floating in the Dead Sea flotation tank under its twinkling stars. Apparently floating in the tank for 40 minutes gives your body the same rest as eight hours of sleep (I need to gets me one of these). Alternatively, choose from one of the gazillion treatments on offer or opt for a treatment package for the ultimate in blissful you-time. A top to toe treatment is £55 and includes a back massage and light lunch and a file and polish.
