Newsflash: What’s new pussycat?
There's a new luxurious day spa opening in Leicestershire. Want all the gossip? Of course you do!
Want to be feel like pampered princess? Well great news then that we’ve got a brand new spa opening in Market Harborough. Revive Skin and Spa is is being launched by Jen Taylor who already runs the successful Creative Looks Esthetics. The exclusive new day spa will be able to host a group of eight people and facilities include a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, shower room and feature luxury skincare spa brand, Temple Spa PLUS, some treatments include champagne, strawberries and chocolates. How indulgent! If that wasn’t enough, there’s also going to be cafe on the second floor where you can tuck into a delicious afternoon tea. Word on the street is that the spa is scheduled to open next month! Bliss!
Who remembers the melting desserts at Rebus Domes? It was launched by former GBBO contestant and University of Leicester graduate, Ali Imdad and now he’s back. His charming tea room and patisserie is opening next month in Market Street and will be split over two floors, but don’t expect standard sandwiches and scones. Instead, think inventive and slightly crazy – but delicious – creations like Kinder Bueno brioche toast, chicken Katsu-sando, naan pizza and a Rumplestiltskin Latte, topped with 24 carat gold leaf. Fancy!
Everyone has their favourite local curry house, but now it’s time for something new. Cue Varanasi. This new upscale Indian restaurant is set to open in the city later this year. Named after the ancient city in Uttar Pradesh, Northern India, Varanasi is a fine dining restaurant that’s going to be all over the Gram – think grand and gorgeous with hanging crystal chandeliers, opulent decor, ornate gold mirrors and lots of black velvet. On the menu, there’s crispy soft shell crab, tandoori lamb chops, biryani dishes, Kasturi chicken tikka and more. Fingers crossed the food is on par with that stunning decor!
We all know that Leicester is a melting pot of food and culture and now there’s one more cuisine to add into the mix; Afrikana is all about well…err…African inspired dishes of course. They’ve already got a raft of successful restaurants in other locations and their Leicester branch will bring the total number up to seven. As for the food, expect deep fried peri prawns, chicken wings, jerk seasoned salmon, African-inspired platters, Afrikana chili, specials and a great choice for vegans too. I’ve got hunger pangs already and it’s not even 11am!
