City Festival, Leicester, Sat 12 Aug- Monday 28 Aug

The City Festival celebrates Leicester in all its glory. Taking place over 17 fun-packed days, sites across the city centre will be filled with street entertainment, sports, culture, music, art, heritage and more.New for 2017 include a six day street festival featuring unique performances from national and international street artists; Night of Festivals South Asia and Leicester Music Trail, a range of special events showcasing the best of music and performances. Other highlights include a colourful Rickshaw Run and parade, a cosmopolitan carnival, City ride, that includes a unique pitch-side route through a Premier League football stadium and much much more.

Moira Furnace Folk Festival, Fri 18 Aug – Sun 20 Aug

The annual festival in the heart of the National Forest takes place at Moira Furnace located on the Leicestershire / Derbyshire border, one of the most picturesque settings in the midlands. Featuring some well known and talented  acts, plus localand national, up and coming artists. A programme of workshops has been arranged and will be detailed on the website together with details of which days artists are performing, in advance of the Festival
Local camping is available and free car parking close at hand. There is fun entertainment and activities for children as well as food stalls and a Real Ale bar.

Two, The Oat Hill Theatre Gardens, Market Harborough, Thur 17 Aug – Fri 18 Aug

Set in the stunning and spacious gardens of The Oat Hill the play Two takes place over the course of one evening in a typical Northern pub, Jim Cartwright’s ‘Two’ famously features fourteen diverse characters played by just two actors, as various members of the local community pull up a stool and let us into their lives. Enjoy outstanding theatre and a 3 course meal in our covered marquee  Tickets are £40 per person and are available from The Oat Hill on 01858 462324.
