Legendary dance DJ Pete Tong, along with the Heritage Orchestra conducted by Jules Buckley, will be bringing his Ibiza Classics tour to the magnificent and gorgeous ground of Belvoir Castle on Saturday, July 21. A brand new three-day music festival is hitting our shores and locals can expect a whole host of chart-topping acts and a range of entertainment during the day with a wide variety of food and drinks stalls and a huge funfair for all ages to enjoy. So far the line-up includes The Hoosiers, The Fratellis, Example, DJ Nick Grimshaw. There will also be a funfair, festival market, wide choice of foods, Bars, Campsite village and more.

Enjoy an enlightening and amusing two- hour demonstration followed by a wonderful three-course lunch. The day begins at with coffee, after which our cookery school tutor Chris demonstrates this specially chosen seasonal menu and then prepares lunch for all guests, which is served with a complimentary glass of wine at 12.30pm. With a continuous stream of time-saving hints and tips on menu preparation, cooking and final presentation during the demonstration. Twelfth Night, Oakham Castle, Rutland Sun 8 July
Ever heard of eco-friendly Shakespeare? Well now you can see it thanks to The HandleBards – the world’s first cycling theatre company. They cycle from venue to venue with all the set, props and costume necessary to perform environmentally sustainable Shakespeare across the globe, and they are pedalling into Leicester to bring you some of Shakespeare’s finest plays. Catch Twelfth Night at Oakham Castle on Sunday 8 July or at Abbey Pumping Station on Wednesday 11 July. They will also be riding to Leicester Guildhall to perform Romeo & Juliet on Thursday 19 July. NHS 70th Anniversary, Family Fun Day, Sun 7 July

Join the University of Leicester and local NHS Trusts for a FREE family fun day celebrating the 70th anniversary of the National Health Service. Pie Fest, Melton Mowbray Sat 28 July – Sun 29 July 

Sample a number of the UK’s awarding-winning pie makers this year and enjoy talks, tastings, demonstrations and workshops on how to make the perfect pie. This year the Pie Theatre programme included talks on How to Rate a Pie and a demonstration of hand raising a Melton Mowbray Pork Pie and more.

Babysitting course, Rutland Tues 24 July

If your kids want to earn some extra money and are responsible enough, how about introducing them to this one-off Babysitting Course run by  Born to Parent. The lovely people there will be here all the way from Wiltshire to run this one-off class. There is one class 10.30am – 1.30pm and another 2-5pm running on 24 July. The 3-hour course is suitable for 13-15 year olds and will equip young teenagers to deal with their first proper job. The course includes an introduction to the role and responsibilities of a babysitter including basic health and safety and what to do in an emergency.  The cost is £25 and certificates will be issued.
