Abbey Park Fireworks, Leicester, 2 Nov
The city’s official celebration, this one is of course Leicester’s biggest bonfire and firework display. This year there will be an incredibly live show featuring The Lords of Lightning who will be firing white hot electricity bolts into explosive performances along to music. Show takes place 6.35pm and 7.50pm, plus lots of entertainment as always. Adult £6 under 16’s £4 and family of four £16, under 4s free – more on the gate. Leicester Society of Artists Annual Exhibition 2019, New Walk Museum, 8 Nov – 7 Dec

A charity market will kick things off at 10am, and there will also be a food court, craft and retail market, fairground rides and a Santa’s grotto. The Sock Christmas Arts and Crafts Fair will also be at the Loughborough Town Hall between 11am-5pm. The stage will come alive at 1pm with live performances too. The Christmas lights will be switched on at 5pm.

Hinckley’s Annual Christmas Lights Switch On takes place on Friday November 22 with activities starting from 4pm. Enjoy the Tin Hat Fair, live music, market and Santa’s Grotto. Christmas lights will be switched on at 6.30pm with a wonderful fireworks display at Argents Mead at 7pm. Focus on decorating and lettering Christmas cards so that you can wow your friends and family with handmade cards and tags this year! You’ll be provided with a brush pen and inks to make festive designs following guidance from Lorna. Everyone will receive 10 blank A6 cards and envelopes to design and take home.
