Leicester Art Week, until Sun 12 Nov
Enjoy a programme of free exhibitions and events delivered by Leicester Visual Arts, a collaboration between contemporary visual arts venues in Leicester. Members include, Leicester Arts and Museums, De Montfort University, Attenborough Arts, Studio Name, Two Queens, Soft Touch Arts and Khush Kali amongst others. There will be 8 exhibitions, 12 events across 7 venues and include performances, open studios, guided tours, poster print and family workshop and more.
Join this creative art, print and ceramic studio and enjoy a series of workshops that are running here until Christmas. The open evening is on the 9 Nov and includes cheese and wine (tempting) and opening day is 11 Nov. Gin Festival, Athena, Fri 10 Nov – Sat 11 Nov
Sample your way through more than 100 gins, including exclusive gins available nowhere else. You’ll also get the chance to meet gin brands in person, attend masterclasses from industry experts and try some gin cocktails. On arrival you will be handed your very own Gin Festival Copa Balloon Glass and tokens are £5 each with one token paying for a single measure of gin, garnish and a Fever-Tree mixer.

He will also be scaling the heights of fashion at the risk of falling into a terrible cravat. The comedian will be talking about his life so far – the ups, the downs and why buying his own see-saw was the best decision he ever made oh and now he wants to be Prime Minister too.

Pruning Fruit Trees, Barnsdale Lodge, Oakham, Tues 7 Nov
If you’ve got fruit trees in need of a haircut but no idea how to begin, then we have just the course for you! Nick Hamilton’s easy-to-follow tutorial accompanied by practical demonstrations will give you the basic knowledge and confidence you need to train and prune a wide range of fruiting trees, whether they be the usual apples, pears, plums and cherries, or even peaches, apricots, nectarines and figs.
