Do your kids dream of working in the zoo? Well now they can and even better – during the Easter hols! Zoo Club offers kids an educational day, run by our experienced Discovery and Learning team, for children aged 8 – 14 years old, who are interested in animals and wildlife. They may get the opportunity to go behind the scenes to assist our animal keeping team with important jobs such as mucking out and window washing –  animal related activities are subject to change and cannot be guaranteed on a daily basis. Cost, £110 per child per week (5 days), or £25 per child per day

It’s time to click your heels as Shone Productions take you over the rainbow in their fantastic production of The Wizard of Oz. Join Dorothy and her cute dog Toto as they enter the wonderful land of Oz. During their travels down the yellow brick road they meet some lovely friends including a Scarecrow, Tin Man and a Lion. They travel together to see the great and powerful Wizard of Oz, but this won’t be easy as the Wicked Witch is determined to stop them by any means necessary.

An Evening with Brian Blessed, Wed 17 April

Join Brian Blessed, actor writer and presenter is heading to Loughborough for an evening of anectdotes from is wide-spread acting career, combined with tales of his adventuring. The show will include stories from some of his well known shows such as Black Adder and also his three attempts to climb Everest without Oxygen! With a warning that his show is ‘not suitable for people of a nervous disposition’ We have a feeling the night will be an emotional rollercoaster! Get ready to be on the edge of your seats.

The Mods: Shaping a Generation, New Walk Museum, 13 Apr – 30 Jun

The Mods: Shaping a Generation project has been created and organised by Shaun Knapp (Author of Mods: Two City Connection/High Flying Around), Joe Nixon (Co-founder of Arch Creative) and Soft Touch Arts.

The exhibition celebrates the 40th anniversary of the release of The Who’s cult Mod film, Quadrophenia, and will include Roger K Burton’s original 1960’s clothing as seen in the film, along with original scooters and other ephemera. The exhibition also re-visits legendary hang-outs visited by the Leicester and Nottingham Mods including The Nite Owl, The Il Rondo and the Dungeon.
