Hallatonfest is located in the beautiful village of Hallaton in rural Leicestershire. A family-friendly festival, you can go along for the day if tents aren’t your thing or get the full festival package and camp for the weekend. With local acts and tributes to likes of Beyoncé and Queen, it’s a treat for the ears.

PJ Masks, Loughborough, Sun 26 – Mon 27 Aug

This weekend, take the kids to the Great Central Railway to meet Catboy and Owlette from Disney TV show PJ Masks! There’ll be plenty of opportunities for photos, so don’t forget the camera. The main meet and greet is taking place at the Loughborough station, but there’s lots going on at all stations which you can get to by train. A picture hunt and a funfair are just a few things you and the children can look forward to.

Rum and Reggae Fest, Leicester, Fri 24 Aug

Sample the widest selection of Rums and the smoothest selection of Reggae music in the UK as Athena will be transformed into tropical paradise. On entry, visitors will be given a Rum Atlas and  A Welcome Rum Punch so you can take a Rum journey around the world, hosted by our very own Reggae Sound System, tasting rare and special craft rums from the West Indies, Cuba, South America & the US. No Rum and Reggae event would be complete without carnival dancers, steel drum performances and jerk chicken, rice, peas and more. Tickets from £13.80. Event starts from 6pm.

The Leicestershire County Show, Market Harborough, Sat 25 – Sun 26 Aug

The two-day annual event celebrates rural life, with livestock and equine classes plus a wide range of family entertainment including a spectacular motocross freestyle stunt team, a classic car and tractor rally, tractor pulling plus a traditional fun fair with dodgems and a Big wheel as well as a wide range of trade shows and over 50 craft stands. Pugstock Music Festival, Great Glen, Sat 25 Aug

The annual Pugstock Music Festival is taking place in aid of the local LOROS Hospice Charity. The festival is in its 3rd year and continues to grow with live music all day, stalls, street food, outside bars, kids activities and more. It’s very popular with families so waste no time getting down there to enjoy the day.

Curve Live! 10th Birthday Celebrations, Leicester, Sun 26 Aug

Enjoy this free, one-off concert will feature musical numbers, drama and dance performances from theatrical stars and friends of Curve. The event is also scheduled to include performances from Sam Bailey, Anton Stephans  Dex Lee and Djalenga Scott (Grease the Musical, Curve) and many more. From 7pm.
