Tastebud ticklers include mulled wine, sloe gin, roast turkey, Christmas cakes, puddings and chocolates. Then there’s a wonderful selection of gifts and craft stalls including Christmas trees and wreaths . Entertainment includes choirs and folk groups, festive carols, brass band and two days of food & drink demonstrations. The children will have a real treat too visiting Father Christmas’ secret hideout deep in the cellars and making Victorian decorations. Warming street food is available each day with plenty of mince pies and hot chocolate.Christmas is in the air at Beaumanor’s Winter Fair. Parking is Free. Adults £3.00 Children under 12 free.

Christmas table decorations and garlands workshop, The Fancy Flower Shop, Quorn, Fri 8 Dec

Your friendly local florist shop is holding a lovely workshop in which you’ll be able to create your very own festive table decor and garlands. Call to find out more information. Cost is £35 and includes all the materials the workshop runs from 1.30pm – 3pm and includes a cup of tea and mince pies.

The Flower Plant in Sileby is joining forces with this cosy village cafe to bring you a brilliant evening workshop where you can make your own gorgeous, festive wreath. Enjoy mulled wine and nibbles. £40 per person and you can book by calling 01664 424 336 or by popping into the Flower Plant. Make either the Feathery Wreath or the Hip Hop Wreath. From 7.30 – 9.30pm.

Santa Fun Run, Market Harborough, Sun 10 Dec

This year this festive race will take place in Welland Park, Market Harborough at 2pm starting near to the café in the park. Registration will be outside the café and will open from 12pm where you will collect your race number and your Santa suit. Choose to run the2k or the 5k. Everyone welcome including children but under 11’s should be accompanied by an adult at all times. Dog walkers with dogs on leads are also welcome.

Love Loughborough Winter Festive Fayre, Market Place Sun 10 Dec

Santa has agreed to take a day out of his busy schedule to visit Loughborough bringing not only some cheeky elves but some of his reindeer too! BRowsethe pretty stalls and pick up some gorgeous gifts and don’t forget to get The Love Loughborough Forest Elves to wrap all your festive purchases and gifts for free. Expect
Christmas Arts & Craft Workshop, food stalls, live music and great festive entertainment.

Twycross Zoo, Leicestershire, until Sat 24 Dec

This year, Santa is taking time out of his busy schedule and visiting the zoo so that children can spend as much time with him as they want. This year, there will be the chance to take a photo with Santa, as well as story-telling sessions with him, feed and meet animals with Santa and then watch festive films or take part in arts and craft sessions and more. Check the website for the available dates when Santa will be visiting. Some activities need to be booked in advance

Stonehurst Farm’s Victorian Christmas Weekend, Sat 9 Dec – Sun 10 Dec 

There will be plenty of Christmas cheer in the farm yard with a little help from the Brass Band. Come and see Father Christmas in the Victorian farmhouse, live nativity, traditional children’s fairground, and lots of exciting food, drink and gift stalls in the Christmas market and fair. While here, choose your fresh cut Christmas tree and order your free range Turkey ready for the big day.

Visit Conkers, Winter Wonderland 4d Cinema Experience, until Wed 3 Jan

Watch a brand new ‘Winter Wonderland’ film in the 4D cinema and follow the short but magical film of how fairies make a special cake for a young girl. You’ll be amazed at the thrilling adventure as the fairies cook the cake with 4D effects including snow. The film runs for approximately 13 minutes and is included in the general admission price.

Santa’s Grotto, Wistow Rural Centre, until Sat 24 Dec

Come and visit Santa and his elves, and at the same time buy your Christmas Tree, do some Christmas shopping in all the lovely shops and then visit the Cafe for a nice cup of tea and delicious homemade cakes. The grotto is open weekends 2/3, 9/10, 16/11, and then daily from 18-24 Dec (11am-4pm), except Christmas Eve (10am-2pm). Children are £8 (which includes a present from Santa), and Adults go free. Head to the Ken Bailey Plant Centre.
