The Open exhibition, Leicester, 2 Feb

Now in its 29th year, showcases contemporary artwork and craft by local and regional artists. Work featured in the exhibition is available for purchase, providing an ideal opportunity to start or develop your own original art collection. The gallery includes a space, materials and regular workshops to create your own artwork that could be submitted to the exhibition the following year also.

Treasure Island, Haymarket Theatre, Leicester Thurs 13th Dec – Sun 6 Jan

Penned by national treasure and established author Sandi Toksvig (The Great British Bake Off) you can expect  her serious sharp wit in this production. On the hunt for treasure, Jim Hawkins encounters deadly storms and even deadlier pirates, led by the infamous Long John Silver. There will be daring sword fights, piratical parrots and acrobatic puppets, this new adaptation is wonderfully imaginative and will leave you spellbound.

Fly away on a magical adventure with Peter Pan as he introduces us to his magical world and introducing us to his friend Tinkerbell, the wild Lost Boys, and of course the terrifying Captain Hook. This year, Imagine Theatre  bring a proper, traditional pantomime full of song, dance, slapstick, laughs and of course… a ticking crocodile. Starring former Coronation Street star Kevin Kennedy, CBeebies’ Cat Sandion, X Factor winner Sam Bailey, Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Kev Orkian and BBC Radio Leicester’s, Martin Ballard.
