Thomas Cook’s Leicester, A Guided Walk, Sat 24 March

As part of English Tourism Week #ETW18 celebrate Leicester’s renowned status as ‘The birth place of tourism’ by joining us on a guided walk highlighting Thomas Cook’s story and Victorian Leicester. Starting at his statue outside Leicester train station on London Rd, you will be led by a knowledgeable blue badge guide, to areas connected with his life and work. The walk lasts approximately 1½ hours, arriving at New Walk Museum. Ticket: £4 per person

Spring Fayre, Donington Le Heath, Sat 24 March

Come and treat yourself by visiting a variety of craft and local artisan stalls in the Tithe Barn Tea Room. Fill your bags with local jams, quirky gifts, prints, jewellery, sample delicious ice cream and more. Join us at Bradgate Park for our second 2018 Star Gazing event with the Leicester Astronomical Society. The event will start promptly at 7.30pm and it is advised people arrive a little before (from 7pm) to be met to walk down. Suitable for 11 years upwards.

Headlining the Comedy Show is the outrageous Nina Gilligan making a welcome return, with her hilarious observational comedy. Supported by Philip Simon, plus Italian comic Carla Pol currently making waves on the British comedy circuit.  Carla is a country lady who moved to Manchester to talk about rabbits, Italian people and the funny side of diversity Show starts at 8.30 pm,  doors open 7.45 pm  Admission £10.
