Stamford Georgian Festival, Stamford, Thur 21 Sept – Sun 24 Sept 

Slightly further afield but well worth visiting, the third annual festival is coming back to Stamford and will feature a colourful and historical look back at the era. Book tickets to see renowned art historian and TV presenter Dan Cruickshank make a welcome return, take part in a Georgian costume sewing workshop, don your finest period costumes and head to the costume ball or take part on a period dance troupe before tucking into afternoon tea. There will also be street theatre, markets and historical tours.

Just So Italian Evening, Stamford, Fri 22 Sept

Enjoy a delightful evening courtesy of tasty deli Just So Italian at their brand in Stamford. Expect a relaxed evening of  chowing down and chatting and the chance to sample a range of Italian  wines, sample wonderful antipasti, salami, prosciutto and coppa and tuck into a deliciously slices wheel of Parmigiano. Tickets cost £15and booking is essential.

Bawdon Lodge Artisan Food and Drink Craft Fair, Nanpatan, Loughborough, Sat 23 Sept

The first of many events that will be coming to Bawdon Lodge once their new barn is complete, the artisan fair will showcase the finest locally sourced products and feature a range of handpicked stall holders who are the best what what they do and inspire and excite likeminded foodies. Expect to see locally coerced beer, wine, chocolate, handcrafted stationery, Burleigh’s Gin, handmade fresh pizza and much more. 10am-4pm this event is free to attend.

Gung-Ho! Donington Park, Sat 23 September

Take part in the 5k course over giant inflatable obstacles featuring the tallest inflatable water slide. You will run, jump, and bounce your way around the course. Gung-Ho! is open to all people no matter if you’re a seasoned marathon runner or if you just fancy joining in the fun, everyone that wants to take part can.

Olive Branch Interesting and Alternative Wines Masterclass, Clipsham, Rutland , Sat 23 Sept

This masterclass is run by Olive Branch co-founder and now wine supplier Marcus Welford. The class will include a lunch time tasting around the table in the barn journeying around the Mediterranean discovering wines from mainland Greece, Crete, Cyprus, Sicily and a few surprises along the way. You’ll get to sample a selection of whites and reds and there will also be a selection of tapas-sized dishes to accompany the wines. Starts 12.30 and costs £55.

Charity Link’s Leicestershire 3 Peaks Challenge, Sun 24 Sept

Join the local charity for 16 challenging miles taking in the peaks of Beacon Hill, Bardon Hill and Old John Tower in Bradgate Park, where the challenge starts and finishes. Challengers can choose to walk with the main group or for those looking for an extra challenge, runners are welcome to see if they can beat the Charity Link Leicestershire 3 Peaks Challenge record. There is a welcome pit stop at Bawdon Lodge Farm, Nanpanton, and other support around the route. Registration costs £15 and challengers also raise extra funds. Due to the unique way in which Charity Link works, for every £10 raised it can provide £50 worth of essential items – so by taking part you really will be helping to improve the lives of the most vulnerable local people.
