If you have a weak spot for a G&T or love a rum and coke, then this event is right up your street. The Gin and Rum Festival is touring the UK including stopping at Leicester this weekend! As well as recognised brands of gin and rum, spirits from local distilleries are available too with over 60 makes to try. As if this wasn’t good enough, there’s street food, live entertainment, free gift bags and much more to be enjoyed.

For a family friendly day out, the Steam on Rutland Water event provides an opportunity to get a glimpse of vintage vehicles and steam engines. With a setting by Rutland Water, there are Victorian seaside attractions, a funfair and a bouncy castle to keep the children happy.

The ultimate Star Wars fan event is back for an impressive 13th year! Celebrating all things from a galaxy far far away, this is your chance to see costume parades, props, buy merchandise and meet cast members from the popular sci-fi franchise. Star Warwick Davis will even be giving a special talk at the event.

With a picturesque setting on the banks of the River Soar, The Waterside Inn is the ideal location for a music festival, and what’s even better is that this one is free! For the first time, The Waterside is hosting their Mid-Summer Music Festival with top tributes to the likes of Ed Sheeran and Little Mix. This looks to be an amazing treat.

This unique event in Melton Mowbray is pulling out all the stops and definitely one to be a part of. There’s a variety of things to do which include a dog show, climbing wall, classic car show and a bird of prey display, plus many more. It’s unlikely that you’ll find all of this together in the same place and at the same time, so don’t miss it.

East Midlands Aeropark Open Day, Castle Donington, Sun 24 Jun

This Sunday is one of only two days this year when you can get the chance to experience life as a pilot for the day. The Aeropark at East Midlands Airport is opening up aircraft for viewing and there’s also a planned BBMF flypast. If the kids are planning a future career as a pilot, then it’s the perfect opportunity to inform and educate in a fun environment.

Groby Street Fair, Sun 24 June  

Taking place from along the Markfield Road from the Leicester Road/Markfield Road/Ratby Road junction this fun family day will be filled with entertainment, stalls, food and drink. There will holistic therapist offering some sample healthcare sessions. Expect to see Caribbean Spice It Up BBQ, Dobsons Delhi, Noodle Horsebox and Alex’s Prosecco and Wine bar all offering a wide selection of mouthwatering food and drink from across the world. Event is free and runs from 11am – 6pm.

Groby Street Fair

Market Bosworth Festival Big Weekend, until Sun 24 June

Supporting and celebrating the locals arts, expect music, film, theatre, literature, lectures, the visual arts and crafts, and anything else that we think might be of interest. On Sunday bring a picnic and a rug and while away a summer afternoon relaxing to the popular music of this great line up in the Parish Field from 12-3pm.
