Rails and Ales Festival, Market Bosworth, Fri 21- Sun 23 July. 

The 8th annual Rail Ale Festival will feature 80 real ales and 30 ciders & perries. There will also be a Pimms Bar in the marquee at Market Bosworth. There will also be live music and entertainment throughout the event, 10 live steam road locomotives, a fairground organ, miniature traction engines, vintage commercial vehicles, trade stalls, hot and cold food and other displays, there’s even a bouncy castle for the children. Entry £1 Friday midday to 5pm and £5 all other times. Children half price.

Pinot Noir Masterclass, Olive Branch, Rutland, Sat 22 July

Local wine expert Charles Hawkins will guide you on a journey through a diverse range of Pinot Noirs. He will discuss food pairing the wine which is light enough for salmon but complex enough to hold up to some richer meat. There will also be a selection of tapas-sized dishes to accompany the wines to demonstrate this. Starts at 12.30 booking is necessary on  01780 410 355. Cost £55.

Hand-Tied Bouquet Workshop, Newarke Musuem, Sat 22 July

Using a gorgeous selection of seasonal flowers we will teach you the mystery of the spiralled stem technique. The workshop will show you how to place your flowers so your bouquet will stand up when tied, then you can choose from ribbons and tissue to complete your design. No matter what your skill level you’ll get all the help you need to create your perfect bouquet. To reserve your place on the workshop, please call Newarke Houses Museum on 0116 2254980. £40.00 per person. Melton Chilli Fest, Melton Mowbray, Sat 22 July 

This event is for chilli lovers and foodies – don’t expect hot dogs, burgers, chips or pizza, it’s all about chilli. The event kicks off at 10am and will include the chance to sample and buy spicy chilli sauces, plants, seeds, chilli cocktails, dips, chilli beer and lots more. The event is free.

Rockingham Country Fair, Sat 22 – Sun 23rd July

Set in the beautiful Great Park, this family country show with is sure to provide a full day of entertainment. Jez Avery stunt bikes and quads, Totally Terriers racing team, birds of prey, Ponies, Nuneaton Dog Display Team and so much more. On Sunday enjoy the companion dog show in support of Marie Curie Cancer Care – so bring along a canine friend and have a go! Cookery demonstrations take place in the marquee throughout the day hosted by Master Chef’s Ondine Hartgroves. 10am-5pm daily.

There’s also Ranger activities. including construction derby, sensory art, pond dipping and more. Don’t forget there’s a 120 acres to explore including indoor and outdoor play, high and low ropes with a climbing wall and the new 4D cinema.

Ventoux, Cafe Ventoux, Market Harborough, Sat 22 July

The award-winning play ‘Ventoux’ by 2magpies Theatre returns to Cafe Ventoux this summer on the penultimate day of the Tour De France. The performance is a theatrical restating of the epic rivalry between Lance Armstrong and Marco Pantani on Mont Ventoux in the 2000 Tour De France. The evening promises to be another great evening with a fully licensed bar running until 11pm. In addition this year, food will also be available. Performance begins at 8pm, event starts from 6.30pm.
