Marking fifty-five years since the show’s first ever broadcast, Hambledon Productions will breathe life back into the Steptoe household with this faithful, fresh and hilarious adaptation of original episodes from the long-running smash hit BBC sitcom.

This one woman show about suffragette and artist Sylvia Pankhurst who painted the portrait of Alice Hawkins in the Newarke Houses Museum. Her paintings are included in the 250 historical slides which form a background to a play described as ‘Fabulous – a perfect combination of words and pictures.’ Tickets £9 / £7 concessions, event starts from 11am – 4.30pm. Steam Toys in Action, Abbey Pumping Station Sun 4 Feb
The 28th year of Steam Toys in Action – the biggest gathering of steam toys in Europe. 100’s of toy steam engines, boats and trains will be on display. See the museum’s collection of heritage vehicles on show and one of the massive beam engines working. Leicester’s only narrow gauge railway will be giving rides. Enjoy a hot cuppa and a cake in the LMTA café, a perfect end to a perfect day. Admission: Adults £3 accompanied children free (plus small charge for train rides.
