Moira Canal Festival, Moira Furnace Museum, Sat 19 & Sun 20 May
For a weekend of family fun and a good cause, pop along to the Moira Canal Festival to learn about the work behind connecting Ashby Canal to the national waterways network. With historical re-enactment, a display of classic cars, Morris Dancing and children’s crafts, there’s plenty of fun to be had.
The Catesbys Brocante, Rutland, Sat 19 May
Here’s a fair with a bit of flair! This France-inspired flea market (or brocante in French) is taking place in the private parkland of Exton Park in Rutland. There’ll be a marquee filled with hand-picked dealers and designer-makers bringing you new and vintage decorative items for your home and garden. Food and drink stalls will also be dotted throughout the grounds.

The sunny weather’s been holding out so make the most of being outdoors with the National Forest’s Walking Festival. Explore the landscape that make up the 200 square miles of lush woodlands with walks for all ages and abilities. Enjoy a serene stroll through this beautiful 15 acre garden with many paths through the vast woodland. It features an abundance of spring bulbs, wild flowers, ornamental trees, a rose garden and a magnificent herbaceous border.
