Street Orchestra of London Concert, Jubilee Square, Leicester Fri 14 July
A performance by the Street Orchestra of London is a quintessentially different experience from that of any other orchestra. Expect a brilliant variety of musical styles from baroque to contemporary, from jazz to world music and from bluegrass to heavy metal. The events starts at 2.10pm and will last 30-40 minutes before moving onto Leicester Market Square for the next performance. This event is free, just turn up and enjoy.

Flashpoint Music Festival, Rockingham Castle, Fri 14 July – Sun 16 July
A fantastic weekend of music offering a line up packed full of artists from across the decades, and all set in the picturesque grounds of Rockingham Castle. This is must for music enthusiasts and acts include RnB veteran DJ Trevor Nelson who will be hosting an opening party for the festival on the Friday night. On the main stage expect to see KT Tunstall, Deacon Blue, Sophie Ellis Bexter and the atmosphere caters for everyone. Expect music, themed bars, and lots of food. There’s also a camping option if one day here is just not enough. Bring the kids they’ll be kept busy within the kids area and there will also be a vintage style fun fair for all ages. Festival goers who want to party into the early hours can book tickets for the Silent Disco which kicks off at 11pm and goes on until 2am. Whooop whoop!.

Back on the Meadows following the success of its launch last year and now with two stages and five sessions featuring a fantastic line-up that will cross a range of musical genres. Musical offerings include, jazz, blues, soul, funk, Celtic roots and country and pop. There’s even room from some vintage 40s, and we aim to squeeze some ska and reggae in too.. his is a family friendly event that will be high on energy and crammed full of good music – pick out the session that most suits your musical tastes or buy a ticket for the whole weekend and give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the Stamford Music Festival.
