With summer almost at an end, you’ll be wanting to get your winter warmers out. If you’re in need of some, book a spot at this workshop and you’ll leave with an amazing, giant cosy throw. You’ll be in good company with the ladies from Mon Amie and under the expert tuition of the fabulous Tara Cork. The workshop is ideal for complete beginners or those who know how to knit with needles, but would like to give arm knitting a go. Everyone will walk away knowing the general principals of arm knitting. £60 per person.
Melton Mowbray Rare Foods Festival, Cattle Market, Sat 14 Sept
This one is really for the adventurous foodie Round Corner Brewing are putting on this brand new event and you’ll get a chance to see all the animals, enjoy some rare street food – think BBQ crickets, mutton leg as well as exotic cheeses and brownies – definitely not for the faint-hearted. You’ll also get to sample a range of rare beers and ciders from the UK and Ireland. There will also be live music and lots of fun for the family. Free to attend but you must register in advance here.

One of the UK’s largest street theatre festivals comes back to Market Harborough. Catch The Bubble Wizard who will be making ingenious bubble hats for passers by, watch Gran Turismo race up and down the High Street on top of their motorised scooters, encouraging spectators to join in with their spectacular routines.
and listen to music from King Brasstards, who will be taking their New Orleans-inspired versions of well-known songs around the town. Lots more open air entertainment, plus it’s all free. Can’t wait!
Hinckley BID Motorshow, Hinckley, Sun 15 Sept
Growing in popularity every year and probably the biggest town centre motorshow in the country welcomes classic vehicles and vehicles of special interest. They’re expecting more than 800 vehicle owners from all over the Midlands to fill the town centre and show off their beautiful machines to a crowd of thousands. Free event and starts from 10am.
