Loogabarooga Festival, Loughborough, Wed 18 Oct – Tues 24 Oct

Loughborough will be buzzing this October half-term as the much-loved book literature festival returns to the town, The festival will take place at various venues throughout the town and will include new book trails, storytelling sessions, and advice on how to write and illustrate your own book. There will also be appearances from some local authors and illustrators such as Dave Shelton, Andrew Everett-Stewart and Gemma Denham.

Loogabarooga Festival

Diwali, Leicester, Thur 19 Oct

The Golden Mile will be bathed in light throughout the festive period until Diwali Day, when the celebrations continue at Cossington Street Recreation Ground with entertainment, children’s funfair, food and craft stalls. Event and performances kick off from 3pm followed by an impressive fireworks display in the evening. The event is free.

Bamboo Street Food at Kai, Leicester, Thur 19 Oct

I just caught a glimpse of this menu and OMG it sounds delic! Serving Mexican included vegan food, Bamboo Street Food have joined forces with cool and quirky cafe Kai in the city and are taking over their restaurant for one night only and serving some creative and tasty vegan dishes. The pop up restaurant will be serving dishes including burrito samosas, stuffed peppers, Tofu fajitas and much more. 2 courses £15 or 3 courses £20. There are only two sittings available at either 6.30pm or 8.30pm and tables are limited.

The smash hit musical comedy Hairspray is returning to Leicester for a week during half term at Curve and we’ve already got our tickets. Featuring the hit songs Welcome To The 60s, You Can’t Stop The Beat, The Nicest Kids in Town and many more. Don’t miss this feel-good show that is guaranteed to have you dancing the night away.

I don’t remember the last time I went to a circus but I do remember loving it which is why I’m excited that this family-run circus has rolled into town ready to entertain the mudlets. Experience a traditional circus with a few modern twists, spectacular stunts and more. This is sure to be an adrenalin-packed thrilling show. Kids under 2 go free. 5pm show but on Sunday the show starts at 3.30pm
