The city’s official celebration, this one is of course Leicester’s biggest bonfire and firework display. The lighting of the bonfire and main display is always a spectacular sight and there’s always a quieter show for the tots to enjoy. There will be live entertainment, funfair and plenty of food stalls. This year’s theme is Saturday Night Fever – John Travolta fans (guilty) will not be disappointed! Booking essential. The Oakham Rugby Club plays host to this annual bonfire night. The 7pm show will be for the kids and the 7.45 show will be complete with big bangs to create the perfect sight for spectators. There will be a barbecue fayre of hot dogs and burgers and the rugby club bar will be open. £6 on the night, £5 in advance. Tickets available from Fords of Oakham and from Uppingham Sport & Book.
