Meet Burger at BrewDog, Sat 8 Apr
If beer and burgers are your idea of heaven, then this is the place for you. Loughborough-based Meet Burger will be taking over the upstairs floor at BrewDog and bringing with them their tasty burgers and hot wings. Creative and fun burger flavours like the ‘Dutty Cheese,’ ‘Notorious PIG’ and the veggie ‘Beet It’ are all created by chef, Lee and this time round, he’ll be infusing some of BrewDog’s beers into his recipe for a new and exciting menu especially for this event.

Canteen, LCB Depot, Fri 28 Apr
Canteen was launched at the start of the year and features some of the best street food traders in the country. Picking up its monthly residency at the courtyard of LCB depot, the last event just came to a close and was filled with a mix of post-work crowds and those who couldn’t resist the smell of good food. Last month Canteen hosted Indian and Asian street food, gourmet hot dogs, waffles and more. The street vendors knocked out more than 1000 portions of food and looks like it’s just going to get bigger and better. This month expect to sample handmade Bao (steamed buns) from Wallace and Sons, Caribbean seafood platters served up by Leave it to Esmie, halloumi fries from Street Chef and there’ll be other vendors too. Stay tuned! I’ve been told on good authority that they may even look at doing two a month because the turn out and reaction has been so great. Ahmed Kage, the brains behind Canteen told me it took him four years to get the idea off the ground…looks like it was worth the wait. Roll on April 28!

We Are Made Of Star Stuff, Watch This Space Boutique, Sat 15 Apr
To help launch Bar 33 Cank Street’s new space inspired spring cocktail, Watch This Space boutique is holding a special exhibition in their upstairs gallery for one day only. Kal, mixologist at Bar 33 Cank Street told me that the cocktail’s been inspired by Leicester’s landmark the National Space Centre and is a sneak peek at what to expect from their spring menu. As well as art and complimentary cocktails the event will showcase a brand new cosmic inspired fashion collection by boutique owner, Stephanie. There’ll also be a DJ playing some funky chilled out beats, astrology readings, giveaways and more. The event runs from 1-7pm.
