Winner’s Drinks, Muddy Awards 2019
I invited all the Muddy Award Winners together and we celebrated in true Muddy style at. Fizz, pop clink!
Yes you did it, you voted for our favourite Leicestershire and Rutland lifestyle businesses across 24 categories and generated tens of thousands of votes – no seriously you did! (Meanwhile, I was frantically behind the scenes trying to keep it together!)
You all created winners, and I got to hear about and meet some fantastic people along the way.
Last week, I called all the winners together and we celebrated in true Muddy style at The Exchange, Leicester. Nearly all the winning businesses made it to the party and we definitely missed the ones who couldn’t quite make it (most holidaying away in Europe)!
As always, one of the best bits of the Muddy Awards is the Winners’ Drinks Party and it really feels a privilege to help the winners celebrate their success. At a time when so many big high street brands are going to the wall, it’s heartwarming and inspiring to see so many innovative, high quality businesses thriving here in Leics and Rutland.
Along the winners, sponsor Renu Ravalia was also there who helped pick out a winner for the Day Spa Treatment (congrats Ascough’s Bistro, Market Haborough who won Best Restaurant). There were also personalised biscuits from the Sugah Lab (check her handiwork out on IG here).
Check out some of the pics here, all taken by the brilliant Dan Newell, our photographer for the morning – he captured all the best bits (as you can see).
But it was the winners who had the biggest smiles, and here they are in all their technicolor glory…
So, all in all a whole heap of fun and thanks to everyone who made a special effort to come! There were winners from all over from Rutland and the city of Leicester but also smaller villages like Sileby. But notably, a particular hot bed of talent was Hinckley and Market Harborough (again), definitely worth a visit Mudsters! But then again, all the winners are, so please try and pop along and use their services over the coming months. I know they’d be delighted to see you, after all, they are winners for a reason! That goes for all our finalists actually, because there were some brilliant last-minute tussles for first place and it was really gutting for some of them to have missed out by just a couple of votes in some cases. Boo hoo! There are some wonderful local entrepreneurs out there and we hope to share with all the Muddy readers why Leics and Rutland are such fantastic counties to live in.
You are always welcome to peruse the blog whenever you want inspiration, or sign up here for my fun weekly newsletter which tells you all about what’s new in our fab county. With new editorial uploaded almost daily, and a newsletter to boot, this Muddy will carry on bringing you all that’s best about living in Leics and Rutland.
One final word from me, the Muddy Awards are completely free to enter! They’re also fun to take part in (although fiercely competitive) but they’re also just run by little old me, so I appreciate each and everyone’s nomination and vote.
