Having only opened in 2019, The Cook in the Nook has already got some seriously loyal fans including us! Located in the pretty little village of Cosby, the cafe is run by husband and wife team, Tess and Terry. They serve everything from coffee and cake to hearty soups in the winter and fresh, seasonal salads and sandwiches in the summer.

Terry is a former chef and Tess is also a chef/pastry chef (they met at Hampton Court Palace) and running her own business serving up delicious food has been a lifelong dream of hers. They both take great pride in what they serve and of course, everything is seasonal and homemade from the from roasted salmon, samphire and potato rosti to the naughty but delish, Full (Mc)Cosby sausage patty, hash brown, streaky bacon, egg, chakalaka and mature cheddar lovingly stacked in a focaccia bun.

And we don’t need to mention their handmade cakes, sweet treats and cupcakes  – all of which are simply divine.

Inside it’s cosy with beautiful teal wood -panelled walls and they’ve got more seating upstairs too if you can’t find a spot downstairs. It’s always busy so worth popping to bag a spot before the kids – or you – get really hangry!
