John Duffin has opened up his childhood home to foodie fans and it's cosy, charming and the food is exquisite so much so, it's the only Michelin-starred restaurant in the county.
Chef John Duffin returned to the family farm in Mountsorrel, after many years working in some of the country’s top Michelin starred restaurants, to open an exciting fine dining restaurant.
The restaurant gained a Michelin star within one year of opening and has managed to hang onto it ever since – pretty impressive I’d say! Inside, it’s essentially a house that’s been split into a number of different sections, so you’ll never see the kitchen, or know where the waiting staff disappear to when they head down the stairs at the back.
John’s House offers exquisite ‘home grown’ food using produce grown on the farm and sourced from the local area. To complement your experience there is an extensive wine list with wines from around the world.
