Rutland may well be England’s smallest county Hambleton Hall is quite simply one of the most luxurious country hotels in the UK.

Oozing comfort, sophistication and style this Victorian house – perched on its own peninsula at Rutland Water – has been elegantly converted into a prestigious hotel, with beautiful antiques and opulent furnishings while the south-facing gardens provide spectacular views and heaps of privacy.

The sumptuous interior is sophisticated yet deeply comfortable, each of the 17 bedrooms have been individually decorated. The restaurant is a haven for gourmets, brilliant seasonal and locally sourced cooking by Michelin-starred chef, Aaron Patterson. Oh and worth mentioning, the only restaurant that’s held on to its star consecutively since 1982. Now that’s impressive!
