EASTER HALF TERM FUN STUFF
Okay fellow Mudsters, Easter half term is just around the corner and I’ve done the hard work scouting out the best things to keep the kids entertained, including three brand NEW experiences that they’ll lurrrve (so no more hiding plastic eggs in the garden…again). Allow me to fill you in.
Easter Adventures, Conkers, 1 – 23 Apr
There’s a whole month of fun planned at Conkers for the mudlets, so much in fact, that I don’t know where to start or stop for that matter. So here goes; circus school workshops, Punch and Judy, magic shows, pony rides, pond dipping, orienteering, bush craft and for the entire week of Easter you can expect the annual Easter egg challenge (an additional charge of £1.00 applies) and if the weather doesn’t behave, you have the chance to explore the indoor enchanted forest adventure play area and NEWSFLASH, there will also be a brand spanking new 4D cinema to experience. NEWSFLASH Flip Out Trampoline Centre, opening Sat 1 Apr
Leicester’s first indoor trampoline centre is opening it’s doors and is set to be flipping brilliant. If you’re looking for something to run the kids ragged, this is it. As well as trampolines, there’s a ninja course, stunt box zones, a gladiator pit, tumble tracks and more ohh, did i mention they also cater for adult? So you don’t need to miss out on the fun. Open everyday between 10am and 9pm and suitable for ages 6 months and upwards.

Easter Vintage Festival, Fri 14 – 17 Apr
All aboard for Great Central Railway’s Easter Vintage Festival. Get ready to step back in time to a country fayre at Quorn & Woodhouse station. Expect a big wheel, traction engines, craft stalls and vintage cars and for the parents, there’s also a real ale tent with live music everyday. £5 per person.

Cadbury Egg Hunt, Calke Abbey 14 – 16 April
Grab the midgets and take part in a fun easter hunt in the stunning surroundings of Calke Abbey. you know the score, take a map and follow the clues to point you in the right direction to find a delicious treat. £3.50 entrance fee.

Easter Fun Treasure Hunt, Bosworth Battlefield, 13 – 17 Apr
This annual event can get quite competitive but is lots of fun. Richard III and Henry Tudor’s armies have lost some flags and shield around the site and it’s your job to find them. Keep your eyes peeled for shields and flags in the most unlikeliest places. Cost £1.50 for a competition form and available from the ticket office.

NEWSFLASH Easter Bunny Breakfast (15 Apr) and Easter Grotto during April, Twinlakes
Join an Easter breakfast or experience the first ever Easter Bunny Grotto where the kiddies will receive a special gift or chocolate egg. There will also be lots of fun and games, a mini egg hunt, the chance to meet the Easter bunny (obvs) an easter biscuit decorating workshop and more. Limited availability and tickets are getting booked up fast so book early to avoid disappointment. Entry to the grotto and theme park is included in the price. There’s also the chance to see Peppa Pig on 9 April between 12-4pm.

Easter Egg Hunt, Rockingham Castle, 16 & 17 Apr
The Easter bunny has been hard at work hiding coloured stars around the formal gardens, amongst foliage, under bushes, nestled in cracks and behind trees. Grab one and trade it in for a mini chocolate egg or find a bonus star to win a bigger prize. If you get a chance, pop into the castle to admire the stunning collection of art on display. Prices vary and under 5s go in free.
