Plukin’ great chicken wing pop-up comes to town
Like your chicken wings but unsure where to head in Leicester? Well now you do! Plukd is a great new concept that’s coming to the city and looks like there will be queues outside the door when it opens in July.
Justin Akpa is the brains behind the brand and his aim is to run it as a takeaway but with the same quality and standard as a casual dining restaurant. As a classically trained chef he knows his way around the kitchen and has worked at some of the best hotels and restaurants in the country, including The Ivy, Stoke Park, Bibendum and Kilworh House Hotel and Plukd is his first solo venture.
His mission is simple – to serve the best Plukin’ wings in town; the wings are hand rubbed daily with a unique blend of herbs and spices. The chefs then fry them until crispy and golden, before tossing them in a signature sauce.
But don’t take their word for it, head to one of their pop-ups to judge for yourself. Yes that’s right, the guys at Plukd are taking their food on tour in a series of pop-ups to give locals an exclusive pre launch taster. Here’s all the info you need.
