Sneak peek inside new indie restaurant NineB

The trendy new restaurant/bar is opening this week. Want to know who is heading up the kitchen and what's on the menu? Read on.

Restaurant NineB is all set to opens today (Thur 16 Jan 2020) in Leicester’s newly regenerated Great Central Square and lucky ol’ us, we’ve had a little sneak peek.

Check out the plush decor, the slick styling and don’t you just love the industrial and glam vibe? I’ve also got my eyes on those deep orange bar stools! Elsewhere inside there’s also plush sofa booths and pretty hanging pendants.

It definitely looks like the restaurant is going to cause quite a stir on the local foodie scene and we can’t wait to go check it out.

The kitchen will be headed up by Stewart Westwater, who has over 40 years’ experience under his belt and has worked in some top-notch London restaurants and more recently has worked his way around some of Leicestershire’s well-known hotels.

NineB has also revealed their menu to Muddy which focuses on British cuisine with an international twist including a selection of British charcuterie and cheeses.

The all-day dining menu will include deli sandwiches, artisan flatbreads, as well as small plates featuring spiced mahi, Brockleby’s Pies’ Melton Mowbray pork pies and gourmet sausage rolls.

The starters will include pan-seared scallops with crushed pea puree and crispy pancetta, Heritage tomatoes with organic burrata and a black olive crumb, and a black pudding Scotch egg with tomato chutney. Mains will include fresh fish dishes of grilled seabass and roasted cod loin as well as British classics such as an award-winning beef and ale ‘Wild Beaver pie’, made with traditionally reared beef from Leicestershire’s Vale of Belvoir and local ale from Oakham’s The Grainstore Brewery sure to tickle some of your taste buds.

There will also be 21-day aged British steaks, 8oz beef burgers and a falafel and spinach burger that will be cooked on the grill and can be accompanied with a selection of seasonal side dishes, including charred Hispi cabbage, English Swiss chard with pancetta and Tenderstem broccoli.

The vegan offering is quite different featuring a Cajun cauliflower dish, which is marinated for 24 hours which sounds right up my street.

The restaurant will be open from 12pm – 10pm seven days a week.
