Freshly prepared French pastries? Yes please

Pssst, a new pastry shop is opening up in the city today which is sure to add a couple of inches to my waistline!

Brand new indie cafe/French pastry shop Chloe Gourmet will serve a fresh array of everything sweet and delicious – think delicate pastries like Paris-Brest, chocolate eclairs, mille feuilles and much more. Owner Chloe is originally from Morocco and is passionate about eating and making French pastries and is also self-taught – impressive right? Both her sons (one a budding chef) help out regularly and their soft, French banter means you’ll honestly feel like you’ve been transported to a Parisian cafe.

She follows the typical traditions and techniques so there’s no cutting corners and she prides herself in using only the best French ingredients.

Breakfast will include croissants (chocolate, almond and of course plain)  as well as freshly baked chouquettes – delicious and more-ish cream puffs covered with crunchy nuggets of sugar – if you like a bit of sweetness in the morning. She also makes exquisite tarts.

Lunch will be a slightly more toned down affair with baguettes, salads and of course the typical French, Croque – monsieur. If that wasn’t enough she’ll also be selling her own homemade spreads and preserves soon including jam and praline. I’m available if you need a chief taster! 😉
