From a gin and tonic afternoon tea, to a Mother's Day Spring wreath workshop, just a few ways to treat your mum this Mother's Day.
If you want to go big this Mother’s Day, book a night at Stapleford Park Hotel. It’s a gorgeous country mansion in Melton Mowbray that’s filled with gorgeous antique furniture (see above) and lots of modern luxury details including a relaxing day spa. Book an indulgent massage or a pampering facial for mum and relax in the gorgeous surroundings. Elsewhere, Revive Skin and Spa in Market Harborough is offering all mums the chance to use their stylish spa facilities (they’ve got a sauna, Turkish steam room, jacuzzi and a relaxation room), have a treatment and then finish it all off with a delightful afternoon tea. They’ve currently got online vouchers with 10% off. Bonus!
Our Muddy winner, Fourwards Restaurant in Earl Shilton has put together a menu just for mums but it’s booking up fast. It’s got everything from slow braised lamb shoulder, crispy confit of bellor or pan roasted chicken supreme but we’ve got our eye on sticky toffee pudding that’s served with salted caramel ice cream. The HornBlower in Oakham is serving a three course meal for £29.95 with everything from a Bloody mary prawn and smoked salmon cocktail for starters to pan fried seabass fillet, roast chicken or strip loin of beef. Meanwhile, Orbis Oakham are offering a free cocktail for mum on the 27th.
We love the idea of a gift box filled with afternoon tea treats from Tea with Millie and Ellie. Their Mother’s Day Tea Box comes with a variety of finger sandwiches, savoury bites and a selection of cakes including a lemon drizzle cake and a macaroon. £18 pp. In Uppingham, book a table at The Falcon Hotel with mum and enjoy everything from smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches to chicken liver and thyme parfait and caramelised red onion crostini and we’re loving the sound of the strawberry and mint Eton Mess plus, there’s plenty of fizz options too. From £17.50pp. Try a Gin and Tonic tea (yes for reals!) at Black Iron, Winstanley House. It’s an amazing blend of green tea, herbs and botanicals all combined to create a gin and tonic flavoured tea – without the booze! Chink chink! Oh, and did we mention the food is divine too? From £22 pp.
We also love these Mother’s Day treat boxes from The Enchanted Pantry, there’s also cupcakes and brownie slabs but be careful the kids don’t demolish it first!
