Best festive afternoon teas

Christmas just wouldn't be the same without indulging in a festive afternoon tea. Here's some of the best ones to takeaway with options for the kids and dog too!

Miss B’s Tea Room, Melton Mowbray

If you live in the foodie capital of the Midlands, a festive afternoon tea with a pork pie would probably go down well! As well as the obligatory finger sarnies, there’s also scones, stollen and festive cupcakes and complimentary prosecco. £16.95 per person – local delivery included.

Thurlaston Tearoom

Now that the school holidays have started for some and are just round the corner for many, how about treating yourself and your little one to a festive afternoon tea? As well as sandwiches you can enjoy mulled wine, macaroons, carrot cake and more for £14.95 meanwhile, the kids can enjoy the Little Elf Afternoon tea (£9.95). It comes with cheese or turkey sandwiches and then teddy shaped crisps, Christmas cupcake, snowman marshmallow, orange tangerine shortbread, candy, drink all served in a Christmas themed box and OMG, they’ve even got a festive doggy box complete with a sausage, pig in blanket, ham and cheese sandwich , gravy bone squeaky toy and more £7.95.

Charnia Kitchen, Quorn

For £12.50 you can order a traditional festive afternoon tea with pigs in blankets, brie and cranberry tarts, scones, truffle, mince pies and more plus while you’re at it, order a mini one for the kids. It costs £6.50 and comes with a turkey or cheese mini roll, marshmallow snowman and some sweet delights too.

Winstanley House, Leicester

Order a take away treat from here and you’ll get a selection of delightful sandwiches, scones, a winter pavolva, mini yule log, a gingerbread sandwich, macaroon and – a festive alternative to a mince pie – a mincemeat almond slice. £16 per person. Order to collect on Saturdays from 11 – 4pm.

Wistow Cafe Bistro, Kibworth

Take away a delightful afternoon tea box from this friendly village cafe. Start with festive finger sandwiches, parmesan sable biscuit, rosemary and thyme crisps and then finish with brandy soaked traditional Christmas cake, lemon cheesecake, strawberry preserve, snowball and Brussel Sprout shaped truffle. £17.50.

Kavanagh’s Tearoom, Oakham Rutland

If you’d rather treat someone to a festive afternoon tea, order one from here and they’ll deliver it (only within Rutland LE15). Always a winner, their decadent tea includes four finger sandwiches with a turkey and cranberry, pork, apple and stuffing, cheese ploughman’s and brie and bacon filling. There’s also scones, feta and caramelised chutney vol au vents (yes please) and of course Claire’s delightful and creative sweet goodness including a candy cane eclair, yule log, cranberry and orange scone and more. £16.95 per person.

Barnsdale Gardens, Rutland

Tuck into a selection of freshly made dainty sandwiches – think turkey and cranberry, cheese and chutney, ham and Mustard and of course, prawns with a Marie Rose sauce and other savoury goodies like goats cheese and red onion crostini’s, pigs in blankets. Sweets include mini mince pies, Baileys chocolate mousses, mini gingerbread men, Santa hat cheesecakes more plus, don’t forget the Christmas crackers and tea/coffee/mulled wine or even prosecco. £34.95.
