Ascough’s Bistro, Market Harborough
Launching Thur 16 July, you’ll be able to enjoy a ‘Wine and Dine’ menu courtesy of this popular Harbs restaurant. Expect a limited but tasty menu for collection – ham hock terrine, pickled wild mushrooms, tarragon and truffle mayo, honey mustard, toasted focaccia (pic above) or Moroccan spiced pulled lamb, cutlet, spinach, aubergine and cous cous. Date night? Choose from a 2-course menu for £50 or a 3-course menu for £60 for 2 people sharing. It includes sides and wine (red or white). Pre-order the day before. Fourwards Ashfield, Earl Shilton
This family-run restaurant is still serving its incredibly popular Sunday takeaway service. Think traditional Sunday roast with all the fancy trimmings – roast topside of beef, slow cooked pork belly, chicken supreme or the veggie nut pithivier all served with cauliflower, broccoli cheese, creamy mash, roast potatoes, summer veggies and of course, Yorkshire pudd! Dessert is also on the menu and yes, I’ll take the Nutella cheesecake – thanks! They also have a variety of ready meals (lasagna, fish pie, chicken and mushroom pie) which can be ordered to go. Hammer and Pincers, Wymeswold
It seems owners Sandra and Danny have not stopped to catch a breath since lockdown. They launched a six-course Saturday night grazing-in menu complete with flights of wine which completely a few months ago and it completely sold out. They made the decision to not open yet, but are still serving loyal foodie fans with two AA rosette quality food to go. Enjoy a traditional Sunday roast this weekend or treat yourself to a selection of small plates inspired by flavours from the Far East next week. Dishes will include prawn gyoza, crispy squid, Katsu chicken and more. Check website to find out when they are holding their Steak club, takeout tasters and more.
Award-winning private chef, Simon Spooner has been creating stunning three-course meals since the start of lockdown and he seems to be on a foodie roll. His summery menu features lamb shoulder cigars with Harissa yoghurt or chicken satay for starters. Mains include spicy lamb Massaman curry with jasmine rice (pic above) and for dessert think vanilla panna cotta topped with beautiful strawberries or white peach sorbet all delivered directly to your door. Tempting right? Order cut-off 5pm Thursday for local delivery/pick up and 5pm Tuesday for national delivery. Minimum order £30. Menu changes weekly.
Cini Restaurant, Enderby
The lovely folk at this fabulous Italian eatery are offering take away from their menu every Weds – Sat for lunch and dinner. Food on offer includes their famous pizzas, lasagna, risotto asparagus, a selection of sides and more plus, they also even have a set menu on offer. Collection from car entrance.
