If your appetite for pottery has been whetted by BBC2’s Great Pottery Throw Down, currently gracing our screens for a second series, then Swanspool Ceramics is the place to be!
Situated on the outskirts of the pretty village of Castle Ashby, Swanspool Ceramics runs an extensive range of pottery courses for all levels, offering both wheel-throwing and hand-building. One-time taster sessions are also available, as are private group sessions for a special occasion such as a birthday or hen/stag party, and corporate team-building events.
The studios are an oasis in which to take some time out to relax while creating a masterpiece in clay… Swanspool Ceramics was founded by Sarah Plackett, a Northamptonshire native inspired by the facilities available to potters in her adopted second home of San Francisco.
The only studio of its kind in the region, the state-of-the-art equipment available, relaxing environment, extensive timetable of courses and events, and memberships for experienced ceramic artists make Swanspool Ceramics the ideal choice for potters of all abilities.
Weekly day and evening courses for all levels start every 6 weeks, and intensive beginners’ wheel-throwing weekends run once a month. One-off taster/private group sessions can be booked at a time to suit you.
