Creative Looks Esthetics Glow Facial review
A little self care can never hurt especially after the year we've had! Whether you've got maskne or lockdown has robbed you of your glow, do what I did and book yourself in for a facial PRONTO!
Creative Esthetics is a brilliant boutique beauty clinic hidden away in a quiet residential area in Market Harborough. It’s run by Jen Taylor, a highly experienced skincare therapist – but nurse by trade – with bags of knowledge and wisdom when it comes to beauty. A few years ago she decided to focus on advanced skincare bringing the beauty and aesthetics together.
And boy does she know her stuff. Ask her anything and have the answer she even knows what all those ingredients you can’t pronounce do. She’s so passionate about skincare and the pHformula brand she uses, she trains therapists, surgeons, doctors and nurses all over the Midlands and the north of England too.
For a beauty clinic, it’s a fairly small space, but that’s what makes it so special. It’s calming and peaceful from the moment you walk in. Little pops of purple to give it a little feminine touch with lots of greenery here and there and fresh flowers.
There’s only two treatments rooms but this works well post-lockdown as Jen only treats one client at a time. It also means that she can give you her undivided attention and she really does – she even had breakfast waiting for me when I arrived!
The clinic also offers high-end face and body treatments as well as a comprehensive list of non-surgical aesthetic treatments. Jen’s aim is to help customers with facial scars, acne, rosacea and pigmentation and works with the award-winning brand, pHFormula. This pharma-cosmeceutical grade skincare brand tackles skin disorders through skin resurfacing and apparently comes with fantastic results. Well…we’ll soon find out!
Being a busy working mum, I was desperately in need of some relaxation especially after spending lockdown with the kids! I needed something to bring back the glow, something that would perk my skin right up, so I booked in for a Glow Facial.
The first thing Jen did was to analyse my skin with her whizzy facial skin scanner. I’ll admit, I was a tad apprehensive about this part but it was quick and completely pain free.
The scanner basically tells you everything about your skin, it looks ‘through’ the skin at what’s going on underneath. In the flick of a switch, it reveals your skin’s health, bacteria, uv damage, pore size, moisture levels, texture, pigmentation and more. I was really worried about what nastiness lurked beneath the top layer of skin and held my breath as Jen gave me the results.
Turns out I didn’t have much to worry about; my skin’s cellular health was actually good (turns out my skin looks like a 39 year olds!) and even though the UV damage was 55% (sounds scary) it’s actually above average for someone my age. Phew! I’ll take that any day!
We cracked on with the facial and Jen was brilliant. She’d tailored everything to my skin and the treatment was so calming. We started with a gentle, dermabrasion to get rid of any dead skin and brighten my appearance.
She then used an instant resurfacing mask with key active ingredients like Ferulic acid and vitamin E. When she applied the mask, it felt like honey was being smeared all over my face but it was actually a clay mask. She then put a peptide mask over my eyes and then a cooling SOS repair mask infused with a bunch of botanical ingredients. She finished this all off by using a rose quartz facial roller all over my face which felt A-mazing.
The brand she uses, pHformula takes skin resurfacing even further. It’s a dermatological, non-invasive, skin resurfacing treatment. It tackles everything from anti-ageing to hyperpigmentation, chronic redness, to acne and more. The big draw here is that there’s absolutely no down time with these products, a big reason why Jen loves using them on her clients.
You can keep up treatment by using the products at home and there’s always the option of popping to see Jen for some top-up in clinic treatments.
If you love a facial that’s as relaxing and effective, this is the one to go for. Here’s a before and after so you can see the difference. I definitely could see a gentle, dewy glow and my skin felt great after. What d’ya think?
Facials with Jen start from £75 and she can tailor them to make them completely bespoke to you. If you need something to help with fine lines or rosacea, she’ll pick products to help treat your own skin concerns. The price tag is well worth the youthful glow and fresh-faced feeling you’ll see.
